Fiocchi was established in 1876 and is now in its fifth generation. It is among the leading company in the production and sale of small-caliber ammunitions in plastic and metal, with premium positioning and mainly for sports and leisure use, especially clay and target shooting, hunting and minimally in the private and public security.
Thanks to its reliability, which constantly accrued in more than 140 years of activity, Fiocchi is known worldwide for the high-performance of its products, proven by the great number of international titles, with more than 15 Olympic titles in the latest editions of Summer and Winter Olympics and a series of national and world championship medals.
With more than 600 employee and revenues in excess of € 180 million in 2017, Fiocchi operates on a global scale from the historical manufacturing site in Lecco (ITA) to the factory in Springfield, Missouri (USA). The United States, where the company has successfully operated for more than 35 years, are both the world leading market and the Fiocchi’s main market, since the country generated over 50% of the company’s revenues in 2017.
Recently, Fiocchi was acquired by the Charme Funds in partnership with the Fiocchi family. The acquisition of the majority of Fiocchi by Charme III takes place alongside corporate and managerial continuity. The new holding company has been called FCC S.p.A – Fiocchi with Charme – and is 60% owned by Charme III, a pan-European private equity fund with a strong industrial mould, the remaining 40% is held by Giulio Fiocchi S.p.A. with a reinvestment driven by Fiocchi family’s requirement to maintain a significant stake in the new group. Under a managerial standpoint, Stefano Fiocchi has been confirmed as Chairman and CEO of Fiocchi.
Some tactical decisions in the parallel weapons and press-studs segments (the latter due to use of scrap from brass processing) were gradually abandoned in order to favour a consistent strategy entirely focused on Fiocchi’s core business: production of ammunition and direct tending of the technical aspects of its machines, to constantly improve their production cycles, performance and solutions. This in tune with the continually evolving needs of diversified consumers, including hunters, sports people with a passion for target shooting and clay pigeon shooting, public bodies (for defence and security), and industries for some specialist applications.
Fiocchi has produced all types of ammunition for handheld firearms: from pinfire shot shells for guns with smoothbore barrels to pinfire metal cartridges for rifled barrels (both in the 1920s) and shot shells and cartridges of all types, both centerfire and rimfire.
For security (public and private), Fiocchi has created and strengthened a special line that is appreciated worldwide for the quality of its ammunition. Fiocchi has in fact achieved a very high standard of production that has obtained the NATO AQAP 1, AQAP 110 and AQAP 2110 certifications and the NATO Stanag 4172 qualification, for 5.56-calibre and 9-calibre ammunition.
Scrupulous controls of every single article in all its production stages, and the attention afforded by the commercial departments during the entire cycle of every order, are the fundamental aspects of the "Fiocchi" model and its key reasons for success. Indeed, only in this way does every cartridge and projectile leave the factory for all practical purposes "perfect" and reach its destination in the time and manner provided for in each supply specification.
The goal of the entire organization is total customer satisfaction (at all levels) and it works to support a commercial strategy able to renew consolidated relationships with traditional markets and to open up the company to emerging new markets. Together with its products, it passes on to them its values of quality, reliability and prestige which are the valuable assets that will allow Fiocchi to continue to write the history of ammunition as a leading actor, with that same energy and enthusiasm as always.
In 1876, Giulio Fiocchi bought a struggling small factory that manufactured hunting shotguns and started a successful history in producing munitions.
The early years of the century see the beginning of a gradual move to the present location in Belledo.
The company starts a project to expand trade around the world (Middle East, Central and South America).
