Biathlon season is about to kick off, all eyes are on PyeongChang 2018

It closed in Sjusjoen (NOR), a few days ago, the preparation for the 2017/2018 biathlon season of the Italian National Team. Once again, Fiocchi Munizioni will be alongisde the Azzurri team as an official partner.

Under the guidance of Mr. Fabrizio Curtaz, Technical Director of the squad, the eight athletes — Thomas Bormolini, Lukas Hofer, Giuseppe Montello, Dominik Windisch, Alexia Runggaldier, Federica Sanfilippo, Lisa Vittozzi and Dorothea Wierer — trained all along the summer in Correncon (FRA), Vik I Sogn (NOR), Obertillach (AUT), Ruhpolding (GER) and Anterselva (ITA), then moving on the austrian snow of Ramsau, working both on the athletic and technical aspects of the discipline.

The IBU World Cup Biathlon will be composed by nine stages, six taking place before the Winter Games:

From November 27th to December 3rd: Östersund (SWE)

From December 4th to December 10th: Hochfilzen (AUT)

From December 11th to December 17th: Annecy Le Grand Bornand (FRA)

From January 2nd to January 7th: Oberhof (GER)

From January 8th to January 14th: Ruhpolding (GER)

From January 15th to January 21st: Anterselva (ITA)

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games are scheduled in PyeongChang (KOR) from the 9th to the 25th of February, 2018. There will be eleven medal events in Sprint, Pursuit, Individual, Mass Start and relays. The detalied schedule of every event is available on http://www.pyeongchang2018.coni.it/it/.

Three more World Cup stages will then close the season in March:

From March 5th to March 11th: Kontiolahti (FIN)

From March 12th to March 18th: Oslo (NOR)

From March 19th to March 25th: Tyumen (RUS)

Altri appuntamenti di rilievo saranno il Campionato Europeo, in programma in Val Ridanna dal 23 al 28 gennaio, e il Campionato Mondiale Junior, previsto a Otepaa (EST) dal 26 febbraio al 4 marzo.
