Rio 2016 Silver medallist and Fiocchi athlete Marco Innocenti started a tour of public speaking in the schools of Tuscany, with the aim to promote the sport that led him atop of the most prestigious podiums of the world.

Innocenti, 38-year old, will share his long and successful experience. Getting into the sport in the 90s thanks to a passion shared by his whole family, the champion from Prato collected victories in four continents over a 25-year long career. Starting from two junior world championship titles won in 1997 and 1998, and passing through three world cup gold, a world cup nal title and a number of national successes, his Olympic dream nally came true last year, in Rio de Janeiro, where he pocketed the silver with great determination.

The rst stage of the tour was held in his hometown, Montemurlo (Prato), where the Double Trap champ met the students of the primary school “Anna Frank”, in a meeting organized by Dr. Elena Zilianti.

“It’s a pleasure and an honor to participate in these meetings with the kids - says Innocenti - This gives me the chance to spread knowledge about our beloved sport. Involving the younger generations is key for the future of our disciplines: they are tomorrow’s champions.”

“I tried not only to tell them about the emotions of competitions such as the Olympics, but also to speak about the values of our sport, such as friendship and fair-play.”

“I’ve found that there’s a lot of interest out there. Kids are curious and they want to give it a try, and I’ve tried to answer to their many questions. It’s something I have noticed over the years: when we talk about our sport, there’s always a lot of enthusiasm in the crowd, and that pushes me to work even harder to promote clay shooting.”

The project will unfold in the forthcoming weeks, with school visits planned in Carmignano (Prato) and Massa Marittima (Grosseto).
