Italian Biathlon champions Lisa Vittozzi and Dominik Windisch, together with Technical Director Fabrizio Curtaz, have spent a day at our headquarter in Lecco to share the joy of their Olympic medals and the satisfactions they got this season with the company.

Together with President Stefano Fiocchi and Commercial Director Marzio Maccacaro, the athletes analyzed the shooting stage during the Biathlon races, looking into the peculiarities of Fiocchi ammunitions, sponsor and technical provider of the Italian national team for over 30 years.

“Biathlon is a very interesting development area for Fiocchi, an area where the quality of ammunitions is an essential feature to achieve great results - claims Marzio Maccacaro - For the Italian National team we study personalized shots every year, for both training and competitions, and we develop them together with the athletes. Each champion needs to have the right ammunition, which must be perfect for his/her peculiarities and for those of his/her weapon: in a precision sport like Biathlon, indeed, details make the difference”.

“We are really satisfied about the continuous support that Fiocchi gives to Italian Biathlon - claim Vittozzi, Windisch and Curtaz - Each athlete fires around 15,000 shots every year in training sessions and competitions; our sport is peculiar because it is practiced below 0°C and with difficult weather conditions: it is essential to be supported by a company with great experience and capacities. Athletes from other countries envy us Fiocchi Ammunitions, and exporting Made in Italy all over the world is a real pride”.

The visit has ended with a tour of the company, which has given the athletes the chance to follow the production stage of the ammunitions dedicated to them, which helped the Italian Biathlon mount the podium 14 times in the World Cup this year, and to win two bronze medals - one in individual competitions and one in relay - during the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
